Tricky Traffic Ticket NY Computer Virus

(Albany, NY) -- The state Department of Motor Vehicles is warning New Yorkers to be aware of an email traffic ticket scam.

The scam could lead users to download a computer virus. DMV says phony emails tell users they must pay a ticket within 48 hours or face a license revocation. The Albany "Times Union" reports the emails contain two links to either plead guilty or refute the tickets.

The bogus links actually expose recipients to a malicious download that could expose the user's to a computer virus. DMV says recipients should immediately delete any emails that fit this pattern.
