Alder Lake flagship Intel Core i9-12900K CPU gets cheaper
Intel Alder Lake CPU prices to put more pressure on Raptor and Raphael series.
The 16-core Core i9-12900K is now available at $416.99, a major reduction from the introductory price of $589 more than one year ago. This CPU offers the full Alder Lake die configuration with 8 Performance and 8 Efficient cores, with a total of 16 cores.
The CPU boosts up to 5.2 GHz and has a default TDP of 125W. This is a very similar configuration to the i7-13700K CPU from the new series, although the newer CPU is 200 MHz faster, and it costs $13 more. Similar prices for i9-12900K can be found on BestBuy and a bit higher ($424) on Newegg.

Unlike Alder Lake, the newest Intel 13th Gen Core CPU series appear to be immune to price cuts. On the other hand, we have AMD Ryzen 7000 series which were not even 1.5 months old when they started receiving massive (up to 20%) price reduction. Contrary to what AMD spokesperson had said about ‘time limited offers’, those prices still remain active globally.
